I've been to the dealer twice now to get my S6 MMI version updated from 2750 to 4140. I've taken the information learned from this site, printed the installation guide and verified their CD's. Every time they try, it just errors out and won't load the new firmware. Now they want to charge me to replace the components until it works. "Not a warranty item" they say. Shouldn't the components work and allow for the update? Anybody have any ideas? Very frustrated ....

I had the same problem. I have ordered the prerequisite CD from Carson at Riverside Audi.
You will need CD 4F0 906 961AB before you can install CD 4L0 906 961 H.
Carson Heter - RIVERSIDE AUDI <cheter@riversideaudi.com - drop him a line.

I talked the Tech at the dealer out of his CD for the night and brought it home so I could see the problem he was describing. I followed the instructions posted on this forum. It does the download and shows what modules need updating. However, as soon as I start the update, an error screen pops up in German. I'll get a picture of it and post in hopes someone can translate to english!

I don't read German but, I believe it is saying something about an incorrect file and insert the correct CD. Anybody have any thoughts?

Were you able to resolve this? Or, are you also trying to overcome it? I got both CDs from the dealer and they gave the same error screen. Are/were you also on MMI version 2750?
