I had a similar problem after a long repair that exposed my car to an extended power battery disconnection. It only fixed itself after I jump started the car. Not sure what it was about the jumpstart that fixed everything, but the MMI, radio, back up camera were all out previously. All good now.

Did this issue started happening before or after replacing the battery?

It happened before replacing the battery. I was able to use this battery for a few months before eventually needing a new one. But the MMI started working again when I jumped the car right around the steep decline stage of the battery (last 3 day before death). It was working for a couple days and then the battery went kaput.

It could have been that the MMI kept off due to a struggling battery. I don't know. But I have since modified the car with VAG-COM to display battery stats in the MMI, so I'll be able to keep an eye out on that.

BTW, how do you modify MMI to display battery status?
