Hello to all, I hate that this is my first thread since I just bought the car yesterday. I have an 05 4.2 A6 and i love every aspect of it. I took a good Lon read through my user manual but it seems that something is wrong with my MMI. I can get to most of the menus but once I click into them I can't change anything. I guess the rotation part of the button is not working. Any suggestions? Also, it came with no nav disc, are there any optional discs or do I have to get it directly from Audi?

Welcome. Since you have an '05 A6, you should probably update your MMI software up to version 4140 (if not already done so). Re: the NAV disc, you can obtain an Audi disc on eBay

Thanks for the input and please do not take this the wrong way but will an update fix the fact that the system does not recognize the input of the **** rotating?

Don't know if it will fix your problem, but your '05 has the earlier MMI software that has known problems. You may also not be able to perform the MMI update if you can't scroll to make a selection. Have you tried re–booting the MMI?

does it happen only when you use the **** or the same thing occurs when u use the right and left arrows next to the return button and does it also happen using the controller on the steering wheel?

Yes sir, I have performed the 3 finger restart.

Every other button seems to work fine, and the **** recognizes when I push it for selection, it just won't let me scroll thru anything by rotating it. Also the roller on the steering wheel works to scroll thru my call menu but not thru anything else.
