Interesting - a V8 with 430 bhp. Not sure if it's NA or turbo or supercharged or both ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Not a fan of the rear, side looks too B8 A4.<ul><li><a href="http://www.motorauthority.com/news/sedans/preview-2011-audi-a6">http://www.motorauthority.com/news/sedans/preview-2011-audi-a6</a</li></ul>

Have you seen the price there getting for diesel? Here in the NE I think its $3.50/gal, more $ than super.
I read a review that stated there was no need for a tiptronic transmission in the diesel because it red lines @ around 4,000 RPM's. I'm curious to hear feedback from our Euro/Asian compatriots in this forum.

DOHC, 24V 3L CRI V6 with or without valve-lift producing 300 hp (100 hp per liter, FWIW), then, most likely (but quite a ways from definitely) for the next (C7) A6, where torque would be 406 lbs/ft/550 nm, there will be a twin turbocharged diesel DOHC 32V 4.2L CRI V8 with or without valve-lift producing 420 hp (also 100 hp per liter, FWIW) for the next (C7) A6, where torque would be 561 lbs/ft/760 nm and not a supercharged or twin turbocharged (but, in the same engine, not supercharged and turbocharged or supercharged and twin turbocharged, I am afraid due to space limitations or massive space limitations, depending on the cylinder count of the engines, for this setup for any engine other than the DOHC 16V I4 engines) DOHC 32V 4L or 4.2L FSI V8 with or without valve-lift producing 430 hp (which would be 102.4 hp per liter from 4.2L and 107.5 hp per liter from 4L, FWIW) for the next (C7) A6.
Redlines for these diesel engine, though, would have to be 1,100-2,600 RPM higher (5,700 RPM redline at the very least and 7,200 RPM redline at the very most) than what they are at now just to be able to produce 100 hp per liter.
However, I am sure that for the C7 A6, there will definitely be regularly aspirated petroleum DOHC 4V per cylinder (24V for the V6 and 32V for the V8) 3.2L V6 and 4.2L V8 FSI engines with valve-lift with a 7,000 or 7,200 RPM redline. The output for these engines would most likely (but, again, quite a ways from definitely) be 65 hp @ 6,800 or 7,000 RPM and 243 lbs/ft of torque @ 3,000-5,000 RPM (V6) and 365 hp @ 6,800 or 7,000 RPM and 325 lbs/ft of torque @ 3,000-5,000 RPM (V8).
FWIW, CRI is common rail injection as Audi calls it or common rail fuel injection or CRFI for short, as the general public would call it. Common rail fuel injection is basically direct fuel injection, or as Audi would prefer to call it, fuel stratified injection for diesel engine.
Fuel stratified injection, of course, is direct fuel injection or DFI for short, which is better known as direct injection or DI for short.

be more than that of the 3.2 FSI.
The price of diesel is also twice that of petrol, although you get a significant rebate if your monthly mileage is above a certain amount. So only taxis, public buses and commercial vehicles use diesel.
Althogether not viable to run a pte diesel car.

I think here in the U.S. we are scheduled to get the V6 240 hp biturbo diesel A6. Same engine as in the coming A4 diesel. While I love the thought of owning a V6 300 hp biturbo diesel A6, I think this is doubtful because the 4.2 V8 diesel A8 already available in Europe only makes 320 hp and is close to $100,000.
