Motorola V710 and Bluetooth

Any new information or experience on the V710 and the 2005 A6? Picked up my A6 last week and my old AT&T cell phone quit working the following day. Nice excuse to get a BT phone.
Bought a V551 with Cingular today. Synched nicely to the car and can access the directory. Still suspicious about Cingular's coverage, but the phone was so much cheaper (two V551's for $50) compared to the V710 ($250).
I want Verizon's coverage, but I don't know how to interpret Audi's cryptic comment about the phone directory and they only have one BT phone.
Would love to hear any experience people have had so far with the V710.

I have a v710 through Verizon and it partially works with the A6. You can make and receive calls through the car without touching the phone. You have to dial with the MMI, but you can answer, talk and end calls hands-free. The phonebook doesn't download, and most of the other features don't work. The car doesn't always recognize the phone, requiring you to either reboot the phone, or use the "Find Me" feature on the v710. This is a pain in the butt, because it is GREAT when you can just keep your phone in your pocket and get hooked up to the car whenever you drive. Verizon has a version of the v710 with most of its BT function disabled, but is currently working on a firmware revision that will add car phone functionality. Verizon is getting A LOT of heat about this.
From what Audi says, the v710's features will be fully supported when Audi releases the cradle for it--which is currently in the works. I'm hoping that you can use the cradle to download the phonebook to the car once, then use the BT to make your calls without having to use the cradle.
The quality of the v710 for making and receiving calls is outstanding, BTW.
Lemme know if you have any other questions about the v710.

The inability to download the phonebook, thus requiring manual entry into the MMI, is a Verizon shortfall. As you note, the VZW V710 is crippled; only headset and wireless modem profiles are supported, not file transfer or PIM synchronization.

My understanding is that if you use the cradle you do NOT need BT. The cradle will charge the phone, connect to the external antenna and synch with the MMI. If this is true, why bother at all with BT, especially for us Verizon users who only have one BT choice (and a weak one at that).

The only reason would be so that you can always keep your phone on you, and don't have to put it in the cradle each time you get in the car.
I should also point out that there are very few A6 cradles out right now, and the only phone Verizon carries that has an A6 cradle right now is the v60--not a widely liked phone.

They all work perfectly fine and there are even craddles for them.
My T616 syncs with no problem at all and my phnoe book pulls from the SIM card without any glitches.
The V710 will only pull the phone book with the cradle.
The cradle is in planning right now by Audi and should be available soon.
The V400, V500, V600 have cradles in the works too, but the phone book will pull from the SIM card, so it does not really need it.

I also have the v710. I've had to replace the phone 2x's so far. For now I've been using Motorola's BT speaker(HF 800), but the sound quality is not up to par. When you go through the car's audio system, I'm sure it sounds much better.
If the car has voice recognition, does it give you any added benifits for using the phone?
