Default My New A6 is sick.......

So I bought an 08 A6 3.2 CVT two weeks ago. Had it for about six days and it started to have trouble starting. I would turn the key and nothing would happen....MMI would go on, but no turning over. It got progressively worse, and on my trip to take it to the dealer it took me 5 minutes of trying to finally get it turned over. It's been there almost a week. They have replaced the ignition system, which didn't help. They just put in a starter on Friday and are going to let it sit, and see if the problem persists on Monday. We will see. They have been on the phone with Audi of American for the past three days, neither end knows what the hell it could be. My service guy (who is very nice and direct), pretty much told me they will replace what AOA says until it is fixed. Comforting.... Has anyone ever had this problem? The car has ~300 miles on it. I am positive this is a fluke thing, I love this car and this experience sucks but it isn't really anyone's fault. I hope this post doesn't deter any future A6 buyers; these cars are great.

Default keep all of your documents....

document all of your phone calls, times, people.

at this stage, the lemon clock is ticking.

sorry to hear you're having problems with your new car.

Sorry to hear. I picked up a 2008 A6 quattro 2 weeks ago, but no problems so far. Sounds like an isolated incident. I agree - start looking into requesting a new car. Good luck

Also sorry to hear. I have the same car with 1800 miles on it and it has been perfect so far. The CVT is great with greatfuel mileage. I got just over 31 mpg on a recent 150 mile round trip at 75 to 80.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes, I'm going to give them a full week....til Tuesday. Then I'm on the horn with AOA. At the very very least, I'm demanding compensation for paying A6 $ and driving an A4. Not that it's a huge step down, but I feel I'm due something.

I 2nd that, with 300 miles you can easily get them to give you a new car. Talk to AOA
