I just noticed that I don't have that little toggle-like trip computer controller button on the end of my windshield wiper stalk -- on my new 2006 A6.
I thought it was a standard feature on all 2006 A6s. I had it on my 2002 A6. Do you need to have the technology package (or something) in order to get this feature on the 2006 A6?
Does anyone know the answer?
Thanks

It is frustrating not to be able to get Avg MPG and speed. The manual has instructions for it but no control buttons our our 2006 A6 either.
My 99.5 A4 has it and I do find it useful. I have not found any details in the options, even the Audi build your own site where it is mentioned.

My wife has an 06 A6 with Premium and Sunroof packages. No trip computer. My 06 A6 has Premium, Sunroof, and Technology packages. I do have the trip computer on mine, so I guess it's included with the Technology package (thought Audi's literature doesn't say this is a feature of the Technology package).

It doesn't come with just the Premium Package.
I think they changed it for the 2006 for whatever reason.
Did they bring it back for 2007?

My 06 A6 is my 9th Audi and the first not to have a trip computer. Even my 87 5000CSQ and 98 A4 had them. Why do they skimp on a $50K car? Heck, my friend's $24K GLI has one along with the RS4ish steering wheel. Also, they had to get cheap and remove the headlight washers from the standard list too... It's BS in my opinion.

The MMI Manual has "Trip Computer" functions listed, althought they are not on my actual MMI. Maybe there is a software setting to enable them? I would give up access via the wiper stalk if I could use the functions via MMI.
