Bought a CPO 2006 A6 Avant on December 18. Dealer still hasn't been able to register the vehicle because they can't get the title out of Audi North America (car was a fleet vehicle.) After much prodding -- and some threatening -- as the temporary registration was expiring, got the dealer to give me dealer plates while they sort this out. The upside, I guess, is that until they can transfer the ownership and register it to me, I don't technically own it. I have not received any finance paperwork from Audi finance.
All very weird.
All very weird.

I don't blame the dealer for the snafu, but I do blame them for a lack of follow-through. If I had not jumped all over them, they would have done nothing about it.

I had the same problem here in Seattle. Audi financial said the dlr had written my loan contract using the wrong name for Audi financial. AF said with the wrong name they could not sign over the title when I paid off the loan. I called the DMV in Olympia, told them my tale of woe and they said to have the dlr send me a letter stating the mistake they made. Took the letter to the DMV and they gave me a new title on the spot. Had to show them the pay-off letter from Audi. Took 2 days from the time I called the dlr.
