I have a 05 A6 with 2010 Navigation DVD and it has been working great for a year, but recently I have been experiencing problems. Where I would get into the car in the morning and "I would get a check navigation DVD" i would take out the dvd in the trunk put it back in and it will says "Navigation Initializing" and then go back to "Check Navigation DVD". The only way I have found to get around this is
Take out the Nav DVD, do the MMI Reset, Put it back in and after 40 min of "Navigation is initializing" the GPS would work for a few days before I get the "Check navigation DVD" error again. And I have to repeat these steps again.
Has anyone had a problem like this?

Thanks for the TSB, this is the second time it has happened, the first time it happened I think it was what your TSB highlighted because the dealer replaced the Navigation DVD in the trunk, and it hasn't happened since. Maybe it the DVD though it looks fine, and I haven't touched it since putting it in the DVD Reader in the trunk. Do you think it could be the MMI it self? Or would I get another error instead of "check nav dvd", or just another faulty DVD reader?
Thanks
