Default Need More Power From The S6. Thinking of...

Gutting the cats or getting rid of them altogether. I already have a non-resonated Milltek exhaust that wakes up my neighbors at night and scares small children during the day. How much worse would it be with no cats? I know the C5 RS6 crowd have done this, but would there be much of noticeable difference on a naturally aspirated V10 from removing the cats?

Well turbos slightly muffle the exhaust so the C5 RS6's aren't TOO loud. All be it, they are very loud still. I would say do it and scare not just the small children, but the obese ones too

Do you have any idea how much hp you would gain?

Maybe we can convince the ABT people to adapt this R8 V10 enhancement for our V10's.

http://www.abt-sportsline.de/en/tuni...-upgrade-3635/

We could ask them to do it for the kids!

That's the problem... I do not know. Last thing I want to do is to make the car louder and not get anything in return for it.

How in the hell did they manage to get that much more juice out of it?!

They took the R8 V10 from 525HP to 600HP. Perhaps they could take our S6 V10s from 435HP to 500HP. We know there are more S6's than there are R8's so they might find a viable market - depending on cost.

I'll be watching for developments.

It's not possible guys. The Cats are integrated into the exhaust manifolds. There are two per side, 2 ports feed one cat, 3 feed another. You would need new tube headers created without the cats in them. Moreover, you need to drop the engine to remove the manifolds. Total cost would be at least 5-7 K. Not worth it for maybe a 30hp gain at max with tuning.

As for the ABT package, please remember that the R8 has a detuned LP560 motor. It's really just a 40hp increase(since the actual hp is 560 unrestricted). That's about normal for the lambos.

Are our S6 V10's so different that tuning is difficult?

The main difference is the RPm range. The other V10's motors have valvetrain(IE CAMS/springs) and the intake/exhaust tract to support that kind of breathing needed to take advantage of that high RPM range. Also those cars are connected to transmissions that can support 8500+ rpm. The 6hp26 ZF trans in the S6 has a max input speed of 7400 RPM, therefore the practical ceiling for the S6 would be about 7200 RPM or about 1700 less then the ABT R8.

I think our energy would be better spent petitioning a company like PES tunning to produce a supercharger kit for the V10. with the R8 now having a V10, I think it might be sexy enough to convince them.
