If a car has been on the market for 144 days, realistically how much off the asking price should I expect to negotiate? 2008 Audi A6 Avant CPO with 49K. They are asking approx. $32999.

They are priced pretty much right on the money. $32,900 is the estimated retail price for an average condition vehicle from Manheim Auctions with 49K miles. The Wholesale or Auction price is $25,800 which is probably pretty close to what they have in the vehicle plus the cost to CPO the vehicle.

If they have been sitting on the vehicle for 144 days they probably want to move it. One thing against you is today is the first of the month. Dealers always want to move things at month end to boost their numbers. That said if they still have it towards the end on year they might really want to move it.

I would offer $29K and go from there.

That's kind of the number I had in mind, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going too low. Understood about it being the first of the month, I realized that this morning that they'll probably be more apt to move it in a few weeks. We'll see how it goes.

Do you have access to the Manheim Auctions database then? If so could you tell me what the stats are on a 2006 G35 Coupe would be. Auto trans with 55500 miles.
