New A6 this summer ?!?!?
So I'm starting to see a lot of images of an A6 with a new redesigned grill & headlamps as well as new rear lights and also word of major interior changes ... is this true ??!!?!
I was about to lease a new A6 but definitely will not if it's the 'old model' in 4-6 months.

I think that rendering is a bit farther into the future. We're more likely to see very minor changes for '09, as seen in this real test car.

Not all-new, just facelifted.
LED DRLs on the headlamps a la the new RS 6, new LED taillights as seen in recent postings, new bumpers/grilles, and probably some other minor cosmetic and mechanical revisions here and there.

Next (C7) A6 due out either in CY2010 for MY2011 or in CY2011 for MY2012
Later this year for MY2009, the current (C6) A6 will get a freshening (face and tail lifts, mechanical revisions, structural revisions and chassis revisions for improved all around comfort, performance, safety, ride handling, grip, traction, steering, braking, quietness and all around performance, etcetera, a few different option availabilities and option package layouts, a few more-some new-standard, optional and Audi OE accessory features and upgrades, possibly minor revisions to the steering wheel and/or shift **** and possibly minor revisions to the engines and transmissions for better performance, fuel economy and lower emissions).
Sorry, but you will have to wait until the C7 A6 comes out in two or three years for the high torque capacity longitudinal 7-speed DSG transmissions, turbocharged and twin turbocharged diesel engines with higher output (no regular aspiration or supercharger for diesel engines, of course), petroleum engines (regularly aspirated and supercharged, turbocharged or twin turbocharged for force fed petroleum engines) and other cool stuff that you will never get with the C6 A6 (too much to list here, I am afraid).

Only two uses of the word possible or it's variants in my reply message.....

ok, I'll rephrase: your message was very vague. For example:
you mention virtually every combination of engine technology possible for the C7, yet US customers were only blessed with a grand total of 3 for the C6, and one transmission.
Maybe I'm just bitter, but it's hard to muster much enthusiasm until specifics are available.

First of all thanks but I mean these are MAJOR changes... read this out loud to yourself... slowly
(face and tail lifts, mechanical revisions, structural revisions and chassis revisions for improved all around comfort, performance, safety, ride handling, grip, traction, steering, braking, quietness and all around performance, etcetera, a few different option availabilities and option package layouts, a few more-some new-standard, optional and Audi OE accessory features and upgrades, possibly minor revisions to the steering wheel and/or shift **** and possibly minor revisions to the engines and transmissions for better performance, fuel economy and lower emissions).
So again - how do you know this ? "grip, traction" ?? Are they changing the way Quattro works for the "facelift" ??
"comfort, performance, safety" = new suspension, horsepower increases ... better air bags and brakes.... this is part of the "facelift" ?
So you do need to define your comments for no other reason that you seem to much more informed then the rest of us.
Also don't get huffy - I'm just asking how you know this ? What's your source for this information ?
Thanks - I mean it.
