I have been experiencing this low sonic gurgling noise coming from the drive train/gearbox of my brand new A6 2.4 multitronic (C6) especially when I'm accelerating between 2000 to 3000 rpm range. Has anyone experienced this before and is there a solution available to eliminate it?

The agent has changed my multitronic gearbox once already at around 15,000km (there was a high pitched whine at crusing speed), but all the noises never went away.

Thanks for sharing. What was the explanation given to you by the dealer? I called mine and am surprised that they have not had complaints from other A6 owners about the problem. If it's a CVT problem, it should affect all if not the majority of the new A6s.

The noise is more apparent in "S" than "D" under acceleration. I tend to drive quite aggressively, so it's there most of the time. The Multitronic sounds like a cruder device than the tip. I guess the AT has transmission fluid to damp out the noise.
Check if you can hear the whining noise while cruising - not apparent but irritating to me.
