I am getting and occasional groan when reversing from a stop, and when turning the wheel at low speeds.. Sometimes it is accompanied by a squeeking noise. I checked my Steering fluid level and it was normal and had the CV boots inspected and they were fine.
Anyone else experience this on their C6?

How many miles on the subject car? Have you ever flushed the PS fluid?

75K miles, to my knowledge, all schedule service was done prior to me purchasing it at 65K miles, and I'm not sure flushing the fluid is part of any scheduled service... so there's a chance it's never been done.

My wife experienced a squeaking noise from the steering when she was going up a spiral parking garage onramp the other day. We've had the car since new (2006) and it has around 37K miles, it has never squeaked before. Any ideas?

Are you sure it is not the brakes? My car made a noise when turning into my garage - almost full lock, and sometimes backing out near full lock. At first I thought it was the power steering but after some more listening I found it was the front brakes, they had just been replaced before I bought the car. After about 10k on the brakes the noise has gone.
There is actually a TSB on this and the fix is to replace the rubber boot on the front calipers to better retract the piston.
