My car did that since it had 25K on the clock.
I now have 76K and now I am used to topping off oil every 2K~3K miles.

I have complained to the dealer about oil consumption everytime I visit the dealer but they have always insisted that it is normal.

Recently, about 4 months ago, I had to replace the head gasket due to a slow leak and eversince then the low oil light has not lit up despite running around 4K~5K miles.

Maybe it was the slow leak but will have to wait and see.
