Oil Use on 4.2 BNK 2006 A6

I was getting concerned, as this is my third 4.2 and it is the first one that has consumed 1 qt. per 800-1000 miles. I told Audi dealer and they say it is normal, but I wanted to be on record early on that it was happening just in case it was a issue re warranty. I am now close to 105,000 and it is running fabulously, other than the oil consumption.
