I purchased my 06 in 08 and have never replaced the OE battery (71K)..its finally showing some age and I will replace but sadly I doubt I will ever see an 18yo agm this well built again...is this unique or typical of 06 ingolstadt a6 batteries? also..need source for replacement suggestion? thx

We also got extreme life from our original C6 A6 battery. I'd never experienced that before. I ended up replacing that one with a Sears AGM design a few years ago. Been great so far.

I replaced the original OEM battery in my 2006 A6 Avant last year with another OEM battery. The production date of the car was probably in the second quarter of 2005, so the original battery was about 11 years old, and still running strong. I only replaced it because I got a DTC for the electrical system once, and I thought the battery was probably starting to fade. Probably could have left in for another year. I also never had a car battery last that long.

I just replaced my 05 battery with 82k on it.

I just had to replace my battery from my 07, as much as I want to complain about how expensive the battery is, over 10 years of service is good.
