My brother and i were kicking around the idea of splitting a car to have fun with on the weekends, nice days, etc.
Probably want to spend about 50-60k, not super concerned about maintenance as we wont be driving more than a few thousand miles a year.
Probably looking to summer 2012 to purchase
The contenders
1- Porsche 996 turbo
2- Nissan gtr
3- Ferrari f355 gts
Definitely want something with a sweet exhaust note that looks great and is fast.
Anyone have Any thoughts or other cars to consider.

To have fun with as in what, track days or show off?
For race and track I would do either 996TT or a GTR... you may also consider a GT3 if you're heavy on that type of thing - but if you were then you'd not be asking I suppose.
You can do ridiculous amount of mods to a 996TT and have it go as high as 700+ HP on stock internals. Those things become monsters and scream like animals with right pipes.
Enjoy:

To show off a Ferrari will do just fine, but I have no clue as what it takes to maintain that car.
P.S. I'm trying to figure out how to get into a 997S. Those cars are just great IMHO. Comfortable, track ready, and have all the electronics to be a DD. I followed one into a corner the other day and the 997S just gracefully entered and exited it as my S6 started drifting sideways and out of control. S6s are fat pigs.
