You paid $1560 on ebay when you could have purchased it at the dealer for $3 more? I hope that shipping was at least free.

When you said it was a $1,560 wheel I got confused. Glad to hear you found a $175 wheel.

Also i assume you need to put the car in "D" and then move the gear selector to the + & - to get the shifters to work. Is that correct?
audisport1, Any thoughts on my questions. I get my new wheel this weekend.

Nutz, I am confused by what you mean by Phase 2 Software.

Once you do the simple steering wheel swap which doesnt require no more than 5 minutes, (its simple bolt off, bolt on no extra wires needed)
Then have your friend with the vag-com/vcds software connect to your A6.
Open up to the steering wheel controller (16)
Now click on the Software Coding Box and Change the 3rd digit from a "0" to a "1".

Then save the setting change. Unplug the cable and test out your car!

The tiptronic will enable in "D" by simply tapping the paddles while driving, if you stay in one gear for about a minute without shifting the car sets the transmission back into drive automatically. If you put the shifter into tiptronic it will have to be shifted by the paddles or shifter it will not revert back into "D" automatically.

Audisport1,
Thanks so much for your note. I purchased the steering wheel below and am planning on putting it in my car this weekend. I can't wait.

so i just purchased this..i hope it works...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290424490884

looks exactly like my 2006 sline..except there is a blushed alum trim around the control buttons and paddles shifter

i think the brushed trim will go well with the other brush trim in the car

Great thread!

I´d love to get a steering wheel like that - too bad gray would not match my interior.

I´ll see what I can find here in the UAE.

Finally got the new wheel installed last nite.

New wheel on left...old right.

couple of differences, the alum trim around the buttons, heated (although I guess another module is needed for this feature), best of all Paddle Shifters!

Here it is installed...the - and + light up (lights on)

Lights off

All that is left is coding via vagcom...

Default Selling my paddle shift wheel

I posted above when I got my paddle shift wheel in but my wife can's stand the perforated leather that comes with the S Line wheels, so back to original for now. So I am selling my wheel if anyone wants one. It is posted in the AudiWorld classifieds (http://classifieds.audiworld.com/sho...p?product=4291) . Email me with questions if you have any or are interested.
