I wanted to say that I think the TSB on this is wrong. I don't think there are any problems with the original 2005 PBM software. I think some dealers saw the slow effects of the bad brown wires feeding the PBM harness. This lowers the current with time but initially they might assume it was the PBM when it was just more and more strands of the brown wires going.

Perhaps update C reduces the chance it shuts down due to high impedance while the brake is on, thus leaving you stranded?
