Drilled rotors are not noisy, though there is little reason for them except to evacuate water during braking. In fact, they are terrible for the track, as cracks start to form around the holes when used at ultra high loads and temps. Once cracks form, the pads get chewed up. Consensus seems to be for slotted rotors as way to go.

Have to say, nice job, and good to hear you've found pads that work well with less dust. Brake dust is my only real complaint about our A6.

Default Example of rotor cracks

To be thorough, I wanted to post this service bulletin from Porsche about their cross drilled rotors. haven't had this specific problem with my car, though certainly something to be aware of and watch out for.

Cheers,
Gundo

Do slotted rotors improve braking performance (or rotor/pad life) for people who just drive daily? Or waste of money if not racing?

Default FWIW this was a plain vinyl sticker...

It lasted for many miles and had no problems at all with heat...

What kind of rotors are those?

Did they increase stopping power?

any noise issues?

Are you using ceramic pads?

Can I ask any more questions?
