Default Please help! MMI not working after XM module replacement

I am having troubles. I just replaced the XM module in my 2005 A6 4.2 (dealership says my existing module is not functioning properly and wanted to charge an arm and a leg to replace ~$700.00). I purchased the part for around $100.00 online and went to work.

It didn't seem like a complicated installation. Removed the screws on the existing unit, unplugged the four wires, reconnected the wires to the new unit (confirmed that they are the same exact part #) and voila, it should work. Well, it didn't. The MMI splash screen comes on when I start up the vehicle, but that is it. The splash screen goes away and the MMI isn't functioning at all. All the indicator lights are off and nothing works. I tried to soft reset with setup-jog dial-top right button, but nothing happens.

Anyone have and ideas or suggestions? Trying to correct this on my own before having to head to the dealership.

Thanks!

There should be articles floating around how to install Dension and AMI to the MMI. Do a search for those. I would think that adding anything to AMI would go through a similar process. See where you deviated and how it may be corrected.

Default Searched, no luck

I have searched and looked at every post regarding AMI, MMI and XM/Sirius installation. I have not found out the problem. I have even gone backwards and uninstalled the new module and reinstalled the old module. Still have the same issue regardless. The splash screen shows for a second and all is blank after that. No sound, no navi, no buttons lit up.

Default Fixed!

I guess my post was a little premature. I got home tonight and had more time to work on the problem. I thought I had checked all the appropriate MMI related fuses, but apparently I missed one. I popped a fuse. Fuse replaced, all is well. If anyone has similar troubles in the future, check ALL of the related fuses.

Nice! After reading all these posts regarding changes to MMI, my car is going to a mechanic when my AMI comes in... I don't care much for my heart sinking when things don't work.
