Polish intakes on s6 during decarbon?

I am going to have the IM pilled and the intakes cleaned on my S6. Should i have them polish the intakes while its open?

Wih a smoother surface, it may reduce the likelihood of carbon build–up on those polished surfaces. Couldn't hurt.

I agree, it could not hurt but it probably will not help the carbon problem, most photos I have see show the build up on the valves, not the intake manifold.

How prevalent is this on the 5.2? I know the Audi FSI series is problematic but I thought it was really bad on the 4.2's?

Other than taking the intake off and cleaning manually what needs to be replaced? Intake gaskets or are the re-usable ones?
