Power Steering Filter / Screen thing in reservoir

05 3.2 - one question, there is a little screen (filter inside the power steering reservoir right under the cap -- like what is in the washer fluid reservoir, so when pouring no debris gets in there.
How on earth do you get this yellowish filter out? Or is it made "one" with the black reservoir?

I was going to siphon it out and replace what I could get out with fresh. I just ended up unhooking one of lower hoses from the reservoir... and then starting the car for 5 seconds. stuck a gallon milk jug down in there. It got most of it out
This was the beginning of me then breaking that vacuum pipe I posted about in the other post. ha
