I regularly remove the undertray to clean & inspect the underside of the engine, but,
when I do an oil change it may be one of several service jobs and not having to remove the undertray saves a lot of time.

Nice setup RoyalClark!
Thanks for posting pics and I agree that although checking the bellypan is good, it's not always needed when you just want to do an oil change and the simplicity of the solution you've put together allows you that flexibility.
FWIW, I'm going to try for a solution with no removable parts, hence hopefully less things to loose![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Also, I'm not a huge fan of the extraction systems since I've noticed there always some oil left and those systems don't manage to get it all out. I've used such a product once, and immediately after decided to check if in fact it did remove 'all' the oil. Upon removal of the oil drain plug, a small amount of very dirty oil did come out. In my case, where I need to add 9 1/4 quarts of oil, the amount left over would be negligible, but I just thought I'd share what I've found.

This is a cool little trick for an extra option. Thanks for sharing
I ordered a MityVac that can suck and blow
liquids in preparation for the tranny/diffs and future oils jobs, but have yet to try it on oil. Before I orderd though, I was contemplating fashioning an aluminum skidplate with a flap for this.
