Default Ran out of gas...now it won't start

I've got a 2007 A6. It ran out of gas and after putting 3 gallons in it will crank but it won't turn over. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

doh! hate to say it, but you may need to buy a fuel pump buddy. had done this once on one of my Jeeps and had to drop the fuel tank and replace a fuel pump.

Cranking and turning over are the same thing. Is this a cranks but won't start issue? Did you try turning the key on an waiting a few seconds a few times to get the pump priming again?

If the tank is dry, there is a possibility that the fuel pump is toast. Fuel keeps the fuel pump cool. If there is not enough fuel to cover the pump, it will overheat and die.
