Rear brake pad change

What year C6 was this on?
Hi all, this is a great thread, I've read through it all. Just wondering what year A6 this is?
I recently replace front pads and rotors and am thinking about doing the rears but dealing with the power rear ebrake makes me a little nervous. But the Vagcom stuff here is really helpful.

I just changed the rear brakes and rotors on my A6 a couple of weeks ago. The brakes were pretty easy and the rotors were the simplest I've ever had to deal with.

They are a simple job to do. I just changed front and rear for a second time with Akebonos, but this time I have more pedal travel before they seem to grab. Anyone else have this or did I mess something up. I did use my Vag for the job.
Thanks,
Bob

The first time I did mine, I had something like this. So I did the job again to figure that I had put too much grease on the caliper pin. In my case, I remove the grease anb leave just a small amount and problem solve in my case.

Just a note for those that attempt to do the rear brakes without a vag tool.
(Procedure where you compress cylinder manually) While this does get the job done, the computer now has no reference of where the piston is and most likely your parking brake will not function properly.
Also, I just purchased the Vag Tool from OBDeleven: Audi, Volkswagen, Seat & Skoda diagnostic system
It's a wireless connecter which operates on any android device via bluetooth. Just used it to preform brake job and it worked great, It also performs all the other coding etc.. that the Ross one does. Cost was around $60.00 shipped.

I purchased a QuickLynks Brake Service Tool for about $25 years ago. I've used it twice on my rear brakes on my 2005. I also used it another time helping someone out. Never had a problem.
