Rear facing car seat in an Audi A6 - Europe

I am trying to put a child car seat in the car. It is rear facing and comes with tether straps to attach to the front seat.
Really hoping there is a user here that has ever put rear facing tethers in their Audi A6!
There are not the typical runners under the front seat for attachment to.
I wanted to route the tethers through the front seat as that's option two.
The fabric is enclosed so that didn't work.
Is there a way to loosen the fabric on the front seat at the bottom?
