Rear-facing child seats in an A6?

HI all,
I'm a current B5 S4 owner, looking to move up to something a little more spacious, as baby#2 is on the way. I absolutely adore my S4, but there is no way I can fit two rear-facing child seats in it
I have been researching various midsize cars, and I'm looking at the A6 (not sure which flavor yet), but I'm suspicious of the rear-leg room figures I see on KBB and Edmunds, so I'm hoping someone on the board has real-life experience of car seats in an A6. I will need to fit a rear facing infant seat behind the front passenger, a rear-facing convertible toddler seat behind the driver and have my 6'1" husband comfortably be able to drive the car. I'm only 5'4" so space isn't an issue for me![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Anyone manage to cram their entire family in an A6 comfortably? I don't want to go up to an A8 as it won't fit in the garage!
Thanks,
Jo

2 kids (8&10 yrs) plus one 2yr old in a car seat. wifey 5'3' and me 6'1' We are very comfortable. And for some reason wife always pulls passenger seat way forward which leaves a huge backyard for the kids in the backseats.

I went from a BMW 3 series to an A6, and while car shopping, I made sure to bring a car seat to see how it fit. I was impressed by how much more space the A6 had compared to the BMW 5-series and the E-class Mercedes. I have 2 car seats in the back of my A6 -- both now front facing but one was rear facing for about 6 months and fit fine (I'm 6-3; my wife is 5-10).

We had a two door GTI that wasn't going to work. I was looking to upgrade, but before the baby, I was thinking 997 or new M3. We needed a four door. I started looking, saw the fantastic prices on A6's and jumped. Depending on the seat, your husband may be a bit tight. We run our infant seat on the passenger side. I', 6'1" and can fit in the passenger seat fine, but I wouldn't want to go on a road trip like that.
BTW - I had a B5 S4, and the 4.2 A6 with S-line suspension is better in every way.

Rear seat room is the best-in-class. We took both boys, my wife and I and the nanny along with all the luggage for 7 days. Everyone was perfectly comfortable. This was in the allroad since it sits 7. Without nanny our C6 Avant would have worked.

Thanks! Also double thanks for the feedback on which A6 you liked. I was thinking that honestly the A6 was going to be a step down from the S4 in terms of driving fun, but I feel a spark of optimism now

one rear facing and the other front facing? Kids don't stay in rear facing seats for long.

It's optional to turn them around to front facing at 1 year/20lbs, and actually safer to keep them rear-facing as long as possible (til the rear-facing weight limit on the seat). I'd rather err on the side of safety, and I won't go into the details of why rear-facing is better, but research it if you're curious.

forwards sooner rather than later. (1) They can see where they're going (much happier like that), and (2) you can see what they're doing and talk to them and make eye contact (see (1)).
