guys, i had the same thing, so yesterday i opened the seats, rear ones. so what i figured was the noise was coming from the bottom of the folding seats , they are attached in the bottom, spray wd-40 on each side , and the middle of the. you will see what im talking about, also spray some on the locks... and it will go away,,,

I sprayed some WD-40 in the locks and it did not solve my problem. The bottom hinges seem to be covered and I was not able to determine where to lubricate. How did you lubricate the bottom hinges?

th bottom hinges basically just spray in between the seat and in both ends of the seats. there is a very small gap and just roughly where you thinks its in the middle... and play with the seat back and forth then... it should go away...

I used teflon tape and seems to have solved the problem.

Any updates on this. I seem to be having the same problem. Squeaking/rattling noise from the back, can't figure out the source. But when there are passengers in second row the noise disappears.
Any help would be appreciated as it is too annoying.

I had the same symptom, no noise with passengers (presumably due to the weight pressure on the to release hatch). I tried a few lubricant sprays I had laying around and none worked. I went about as caveman as you could go. Took a small piece of thick cardboard and wrapped around the latch 'bolt' then slammed the seat back into place. WALA ! no noise.......

Check the bottom of the seats ... That hold the section that opens , it's connected in both sides of the seat and in the middle with one another. Spray wd40 there , too. I did the top brackets then the noise came back. The figgured it was the bottom section .

At $28.73 per side I wouldn't rule out replacing the latches either. 4B0-885-733-C for the left side and 734-C for the right.
