Hi,
My '05 4.2Q has a failed adaptive headlight.
I checked with the dealer and they say that the adaptive motor is non serviceable and the whole headlight assembly has to be replaced.
I was quoted $1,400 for labor and parts.
Recently, I found an adaptive headlight assembly for $300 and would like to DIY.
Anybody know how to remove the headlight assembly for the right(passenger) side?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Simply, you need to remove the front bumper to access the screws that hold the assembly in place.
this should give you an idea on how to change out the assembly. Also, there's a great write-up on the 'grille update' which talks through exactly what screws you will need to remove to get remove the bumper...just use the SEARCH function.

That video doesn't show which screws have to be removed - just stuff is being removed behind the car.
I used the instructions in this thread:
https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...e+front+bumper
the instructions are better than those available in the Bentley manual (Which seemed to indicate that the whole mud flap/liner on the front wheel had to be removed - while there is no need for it). Bumper removal is like a 1 hour job (you need a long extension for a rachet - 1 foot long will work) and the necessary bits.
