Default REPLACING REAR BRAKE PADS WITH VAG COM??

Do I actually need the vag com to change my damn brakes. Is there any way around that at all?? What exactly do I do with the vagcom to change the brakes. cant seem to find a diy or instructional.

Not for nothing but I changed my rear brakes without a vagcom. I have had no issue with them either. It took a bit longer but the Vagcom was not needed.

You have to spin back the piston. Apply a small amount of pressure to the piston and turn it clockwise, I used a rear wheel disc brake piston tool, purchased at pepboys. Grab some channel lock pliers and twist them back while applying a small amount of pressure. It took about 10 minutes a wheel because it was a bit tedious but it saved me $500 at the dealer.

sounds easy enough (knock on wood) thanks a bunch. Which direction do I spin them if the piston is facing me

you have to spin them clockwise.... it's not to hard, the piston tool helped a lot.... best of luck man
