I've got a 2005 A6 3.2 that has been showing a intermittent bulb out problem. It's showing that my right rear brake light, rear fog light and rear reverse light are out. I've checked the bulbs are fine.
As soon as I turn off the cur and restart the car the faults are gone. It comes back after some time but not in very predictable manner.
I had the same issue some times back on the passenger side. Since the car was under warranty at that time they changed the whole assembly on the passenger rear for free.
Before I take the plunge change the driver side rear light assembly I would like to fix if possible. Any ideas?

It is a common problem on our cars. You need to replace the entire light assembly. It was pretty cheap, a $100 or so. It happened to me about a year ago. The other fixes just proved to be temporary.
