Default Road Heat

Dallas is not the hottest place on earth but the weather does punish cars. Here are some photos (Monday through Friday) from two weeks ago. The actual temperature is not as high as shown but this is what the car (and people on foot) feel with the sun reflecting back up from the concrete. The last one was taken in the rain so it is lower than the others.

I am guessing DirtyVegasTT can show us some hotter temps.

We are averaging over 110 in Vegas... and that's in the late mornings! I will see what's the hottest I can spot in the next couple of days.

The heat over 100 does nothing good for our V10...

That gives a clue what the engine compartment temps are...very hot! and why it's so important to check those belts and hoses closely and often. We had a LV Audi owner here whose excellent German made vacuum hoses had become brittle in places and were actually leaking..this caused a build-up of carbon in and around the valves. Seems I'd read somewhere there's a high temp silicon based spray which helps protect your hoses against premature deterioration?

Talking about heat - we've had one of the coldest winter here in the Bay area. I think Sat had a high of 60 - I felt like lighting a fire in the evening. Our first heat wave of the season this week (temps in 90). Its hardly felt like summer before this.
