Ross-tech is the best money you can spend on your Audi!
it will pay for itself with just one service call. Plus it also has a OBDII function that will read and clear all ODBII codes from any other car you or your friends may have! unlike most generic scanners the ross tech OBDII function doesn't just give a # code it tells you what it is. But if you are not a DIY person then you may not need it, but Ross-Tech is the reason I drive Audi! No other car manufacture offers a tool like this that is affordable

ECS actualy sells 2 of them the $109. and $59.
Generic/AutoZone/Advanced auto ones sometimes rest the wrong ones. Or the person using it doesn't know how to use it on VW/Audi's.

It's a good tool, but if price is an issue, ECS sells this:

It does about 99% of what the Ross-tech tool does (it doesn't allow you to do monitoring). Pirce $109... and it fits in your glovebox. I used mine to do the rear brakes, you just follow the instructions that Bentley or Ross Tech has (the manual for the tool doesn't have any tools). Clearing the reset is a built-in feature on the main menu though... two seconds to complete.
It will scan codes, it will allow adaptations, and coding... really all it can't do in monitor over time (you can only view real-time, VAG com, since it's on a laptop allows you to monitor a car over time, which is helpful for finding intermittent problems.

Also the Ross/Tech will read your ECU and you "CAN" make mistakes and make your car inop! Be careful!
Yes, Ross/Tech is the best and has lots of features but it can
be complicated for the novice.
Ross/Tech with let you tweak your OBD-II to use your FOB to
roll your windows up and down and turn off your internal chimes.
Ex: No door open chime or lights on chime.
Be careful there also you can accidentaly leave your lights on
and get a dead battery!
