glare for the other drivers on the road. On public roads, we all share a common responsiblity for safety so I decided on a greater degree of light control.

I believe other drivers on this forum have reported being pulled over for glare from improperly mounted lights. In California, if you are pulled over, you are required to take the car in for inspection after you have removed the offending lights. If you don't, you risk a $300 fine and 1 point on your driving record.

I doubt LEDs that low will cause glare to oncoming traffic. People drive with fog lights all the time, no one worries about me getting glare from their lights. infact, CA law requires headlights have to be on for fogs to be on - and the MDX has the fogs as DRL.... no one stops them.

OEM S6 DRLs are not fog lights - they have no distinct cutoff, and do cause glare with the light scatter at full intensity at night. This is the reason why US coded S6's disable the DRLs with both the parking lights and headlights. (ROW coded S6's dim the DRLs with the parking lights and headlights so that they don't create significant glare at night.) In the examples that you cited, the fog lights are doing double duty as DRL's, whereas the S6 DRLs were never designed to be fog lights (the fog lights are in the headlight clusters).
