Default S6 SLOWER than A6 2012 3.0

S6 become slower than new A6 2012 3.0T
Fenomenal numbers for new A6. I am surprised. Not too far from M5 numbers.

1. Max 0,5 sec slower than m5
2. Where is official info about this car lap time in nurburgring?

P.S. Dont forget that it is 3.0 basic engine model
New BMW 550 have alot bigger engine, but numbers are aproximetly the same

7:55 NURBURGRING M5 read all over the BMW forums THE A6 WILL BE 830+ the 4.4 time is bmws release, audi release of the A6 is 5.3 go to audiusa.com if you dont believe me. (BMW is always conservative.) that alone is .9 seconds which 0 to 60 is a slaughter. if you read M5 reviews they acknowledge that the 0 to 60 will more than likely be 4 or 4.1 seconds. again stick to comparing to the audi S brand . the audi rs brand always loses to the bmw M brand.so why would you try to compare an A6 to an M5? compare it to the 5 series but not M. i do own an Audi A5 cabrio and as you guessed a M3 sedan.

The biggest change to the 2012 BMW M5 is the switch from a high-revving V10 engine to a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that pumps out 552 hp in European trim, making the M5 the most powerful production sedan ever created by BMW’s M division. The motor is shared by the X6M and X5M high-performance SUVs.

Mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (rumor has it a manual is on the way, too) the M5 is good for a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds, thanks to a healthy 502 lb-ft of torque.

Shame for new M5, cause CTS-V 0-60 is under 4 seconds.

i agree it should have been 3.8 at least. i did want under 8 at nurburgring but wanted around a 745. why would i pay 40000 more for an M5 when it is the same as specs as the M3 sedan? they both seat 5. answer is I WONT.

I think the best choice now is BMW 1M (which is as fast as M5 or M3 but more fun to drive as this car is smaal) or Audi RS3 (same reason). But anfortunatly its dream for me..who knows, maybe in some future

Well....Even if 2012 A6 is faster than S6, if I had choice between 2011 S6 and 2012 A6...I'll take 2011 S6 in a heart beat.
