Default Scratch repair?

So I got my first scratch since buying my 06 A6 3.2Q fourteen months ago...at an Audi-sponsored preview screening of "Iron Man 2" no less!

It's on the door, and naturally the car is black (so everything shows). It went all the way to the body metal...I want to fix it, and want to do it right...

Any suggestions?

Thanks as always!

how deep is the scratch? does ur fingernail get caught when u run it across? if so u need to have it repainted. if not take it to a reputable body shop and have it buffed out.. i was washing my car a few weeks ago and put the hose down..i turned around and my 2 pitbulls were standing on the hood. lol had to have it repainted

Cheaper alternative is to order a paint & clear coat pen. Not sure how bad the scratch is but if it's not too long/wide this would probably be the cheaper option. The paint code is in the trunk where the spare is.

Also, If you have comprehensive coverage your insurance company should pay for it w/out your rates increasing.

Purchase the Autosharp pen at this site www.autovisuals.com. Fill the scratch in using a color matched pen. Then you can smooth out the scratch using the Langka method (STFA for the DIY method posted here).

Thanks for the suggestions - I think I'll hold off on respraying the door (because there likely will be other scratches, my care notwithstanding), and take the suggestion about using a touch-up pen, clear coat and Langka method...

I appreciate the input!
