S6 has less bhp. The difference is only 5.2 vs 5.1. Not very noticable.

It should be noticeable! The smaller car should be noticably faster!

Default The weight difference between the 2 is small.
The S8 is on the SWB only and it is all Aluminum.

Default S8 has a better power to weight ratio than the S6...
the size alone doesn't mean the S8 will be heavier. S8 = 4400lbs; S6=4334lbs. S8 is 450hp, S6 is 420. both have the same torque. attribute the weight savings in the S8 to ASF.

Future S6 owners should be happy it inherited that awesome V10. it's not really fast in comparison to today's current crop of german muscle cars but it should satisfy some owners.

IMO, the real champ is the S8. it looks gorgeous, goes fast enough, and driving it makes you feel like you are at the top of this world - it will be one hell of a ride!

Default I understand that, but it seems like a marketing blunder
either that or the S6 is deliberately de-tuned to keep room for the RS6.

Default That is one of the reasons.
Also by the time the RS6 is out, there will be most likely some changes to the Gallardo.
You don' really expect the car to have more power than the Gallardo do you???
They already upped the HP to 520 on the Gallardo this year.
The RS6 will have something close to 600hp when it comes out.

And, uh, the marketing department did the testing, I bet... 0.1 is less than the margin of error.
