Default side marker delete+winter wheel q's -- sry for quality of pix, camera doesnt work well when dark

side marker deletes were installed a few weeks ago but since i swapped over to my winter setup i haven't taken any pictures....

i'm thinking of swapping out the stock 17s for a different set of 17s for winter, i really don't like the way these look. Should i swap them out or get spacers for winter... i know some of you will say it shouldn't matter how it looks for winter....but.... comments welcome

or better yet post images of your winter setup

thx

Default I like it man, it's a little hard to see but looks good

So you took out the bulbs too, right? They would've been visible through the new marker had you left them in? What was the total cost on this mod (parts, painting, install)?

side markers were approx $28 each off of audi parts depot (search for Side marker), plus approx $30 for paint. You can install yourself as they pop out from the outside -- when you get the side markers you will see where they clip on so all you have to do is apply pressure at those points to the one that you already have and it should come out.

Not sure about any other color, but the bulbs shine through silver (not very bright but it's there). So what i did was remove the bulbs. I was going to have someone VAG the car but because the LEDs run off the side markers the computer cannot tell that bulbs were removed.

The reason i bough a new set of side-markers was because of annual inspections -- not sure if local dealer will let it slide hehe so i may have to replace before an inspection

Default Awesome man! I bet they'd shine through white for sure . . .

. . . I'll be doing this mod next for sure. Might wait til we get through the winter, but we'll see. Looks really good!

Default I thought you are supposed to move the bulbs into the head lamp assy.

I think it's called city lights. Just a guess, I have no experience with it. I though there was a "knock-out" plug on the head lamp housing where it simply relocates (but the "knock-out" process was challenging).

Someone who has done this please enlighten me (no pun intended).

Thanks,
John

Default i remember a posting on this... but IIRC it was more involving than just unplugging a hole in the

headlight assembly....
