The sirius radio in my 05 4.2 will not "update" its stations. Sirius claims that Audi has to update

the radio settings. Is anyone else having the same problem? My car is scheduled for maintenance in about a month, I will bring it to the dealer then to look at the radio.

I have and early 06 4.2 with Sirius satellite radio and as far as I know the 05 C6 4.2 is nearly identical to the 06 4.2.
Every once in a while the MMI says its updating the station list and proceeds to update the Sirius station listings.
What I don't know is whether the firmware is the same and so that might be something to confirm with your dealer. I do know the last time I had my car in for it's 15K service the dealer told me they did a firmware upgrade but I have no idea if it actually involved the Sirius radio module. Let us know what you find out.

Although I have XM, I also have the "update station list" problem. I've complained about it for over 1 1/2 years. I got caught in the middle of the blame game - XM says it's Audi, Audi says it's XM. Was told that if the car loses the signal, at any time, that the XM module would require an "update". I still don't buy it. I posted a thread out there asking other XM people if they have the problem, and I don't think anyone else did.
The service department did "upgrade" my MMI to the A8 version, and that did help some, but it still happens every couple of days rather than every time the car is started.
In my wife's Q7, her XM does not give the "update" message.

likewise, the dealership said it is "functioning within acceptable parameters". It flashes "update radio station" every 30 seconds... not exactly acceptable...
I posted about it over a year ago.
