Default Sirius Satellite Radio Compatibility

OK - I am trying to get this right the first time - looking for a Sirius radio module for my 2006 A6 Avant.

According to the part number decoding process, I should be looking for a 4F0 035 593 - as 4F are the 7th and 8th digits of my VIN.

All I see being offered are 4E0 and 8E0 which would appear to be for A8 (4E) and A4/S4 (8E).

Would anyone that has first hand experience in installing the receiver please comment on the differences between the 4E0/4F0/8E0 prefix and how it affects the nature of the receiver?

Also - what the heck does the letter suffix have to do with the unit? I see A, B, C and so on.

Lastly, how does the presence of TPMS or NAV affect the model of Satellite receiver?

Thanks!

BTW - my dealer would not give me the part number for my car - they only wanted to sell me a new unit for $600.

Thanks!

If you have the ability to look it up, that would be awesome!

Thanks but there's many reasons why I don't want XM. The biggest reason is that I am a current and long time Sirius subscriber.

There the same company now. So it doesn't make a difference.

the unit we talked about via pm is 4E0 035 593 so it looks like i have the exact one you need.
BTW, it's 4E0 but if came out of my C6 A6 that is the 4F chassis. Not all parts on the 4F chassis begin with 4F. some of the the timing parts for my 4.2L engine were actually wolksvagen parts... took a bit to figure that one out.
