Default Slipping transmission while shifting up

For the last few days I have noticed that the transmission slips between gear changes when the engine is cold. It happens when shifting from 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, etc. The transmission disengages from the lower gear, and between that and shifting to the higher gear the RPMs jump by 200 or so.

Once the engine is warm (5+ miles later), the issue goes away.

It's a 2007 C6 with 3.2 liter engine with 55k miles on it - fresh out of warranty

Yes mine started doing that once the cold weather arrived, I had a post in here about it "trans question". Really seems like first gear only for me. Mine is a 2005 C6 with 80K miles.

I remember your post. I have the "click" sensation described by the others [I think it's a feature by Audi]... My hesitation was far worse than what you described as it happened between shifts for all the gears.

Then I filled up with Shell V-Power and it went away despite much colder weather. During the issue, I had 89 octane gas in the tank. This might be a coincidence as I have no idea how the proper octane gas could/would affect shifting.

But stranger things happen.

The car has knock sensors that retard power and timing and things when the car is being fed fuel that is below that required. The tranny compensating could be one of the symptoms of the below par fuel. But glad it's working properly now.
