Default Softest drop/springs for A6? OEM spring rates? More suspension questions...

Looking to buy a set of springs, and I have a few questions.

1) What options are out there? I know H&R and Eibach are two of the options.

2) Which springs are supposed to be the softest and as stock feeling as possible?

3) Does anybody know what the spring rate of OEM springs are?

4) Since every car is different, how does the A6 feel when its dropped? Do all springs make the car ride harsh? Or are some much softer and better than others?

I ask because I live in NYC, our roads can be poor.

I had Eibachs on my A6 and they have a perfect drop and ride quality is comfortable..I had 245/35/19 tires on it, which is what made the ride a bit harsh vs. stock tires. 2" drop on a 3.2

I've only had experience with Eibachs on an '06 3.2; Koni FSD dampers and stock tires/wheels...ride was excellent, handling was improved... it seems wheel and tire combos may have the biggest affect on ride quality with or wothout stock suspension components.

I have the Eibachs on my 06 3.2 and the drop is perfect and ride quality might even be better than stock. When I change to my summer tires (245/35/19) the ride quality does suffer a bit.

Are Eibach springs for the 3.2L the same as the 4.2L? Some vendors sell them as the same part number, while a few have a very slight variation. Someone is selling a set out of his 3.2L, and I just want to make sure they'll be fine on my V8. :\

I don't think they are the same with the heavier 4.2 engine weight vs. 3.2.
If you want to be sure, you can call Eibach and they can pull the exact spring part numbers that are packaged in both models.

While researching springs and shocks for my '06 3.2 I found that there are different part #'s for 3.2 vs. 4.2 cars, no matter who the vendor is...heavier engine on the 4.2 is the reason...

Called Eibach and got the spring rates for both sets. So to those who search and need answers, here they are:

F V6: 343
R V6: 543

F V8: 371
R V8: 543
