Some Nav questions
Hello All,
I have a 2006 A6 3.2 with Nav...I was under the impression that the Nav in my car and that of a 2008 A4 were the same...I was wrong...The '08 A4 had a split screen with detailed directions on the left, many freeway graphics, etc...whereas mine has none of these features.
I have MMI 33.6, with Version 8 of the Navigation disc...did they change the Nav on the 07-08 A6 models to this better one, or is there something I am missing?
Any help would be appreciated.

RNSE NAV in the A4 is different from MMI NAV. Newer A6 NAV is no different than yours.
I've had both also and RNSE is argueably "better" than MMI nav but both generally work well. I guess this is part of the reason why MMI v3 NAV is coming out soon.

My biggest complaint going from a '05.5 A4 to my '08 A6 was the navi in the A6
It seemed clear to me that the navi in the A6 was less sophisticated in some ways. It needed zip codes to find towns towns I could find with the RSN-E by name, and the voice is noticeably more robotic and machine-like in its delivery of info, plus no split screen or change of view angle of the map.
The controls themselves are more pleasing to use in the A6, of course, and I do like the elevation display, but I bet they gave the new A6 some of those better RSN-E traits.
