Default Squeaky Seat

I have an '06 A6 with sport seats purchased in February. In April, I began to notice that when I brake, there was an annoying squeak that seemed to come from under the dashboard. I have since replicated the squeak by simply shifting about in the drivers seat making it obvious that the seat itself is the source. It is especially noticeable when I lean back on the inflated lumbar support. It is becoming worse and now any movement in the seat causes it to squeak. Is this a common or 'normal' occurrence? Should I complain and try to get a replacement seat?

Default The dealer should address the issue, but replacing the seat is usually the last option, not the

first.

So if you haven't visited the dealer regarding the problem, do so, and have the tech sit/ride with you while you replicate the situation for them.

Default Warranty item

Common problem with C5's with the lumbar mechanism. As long as you can demonstrate the issue, they should be able to fix it. Seat back gets opened up and needed parts replaced.
