Default Stuck in WOT

I went to pass in my 2005 A6 4.2 (65,000 miles). The car stuck in wide open throttle. Thank goodness for good brakes. Got the car stopped on the side of the road and out of gear safely. The engine redlined. Turned the car off and on, but engine again redlined. Towed the car to dealersip, I guess I'll find out Monday. Next time I read a story of someone driving through the front of a restaurant and blame it on a stuck throttle,I will believe it. Got to go and check my shorts. Has anyone else had a similar problem with their car?

Yes! Scared both my wife and myself. Found one complaint on NTSHA with same prob. but not much else on the 2005 models with this problem, but still searching.

I'm sure. regardless, it's throttle-by-wire... not usually found in a '93 Altima ;-)

Default Are you sure it wasn't just the floor mats stuck on top of the accelerator? Has happened before to m

me and someone else in this forum. Didn't clip the floor mats down and it slid on top of the accelerator.

Default Having the same problem

I had the exact thing happen to me Thursday night, I'm bringing it into the dealer on Monday to have them look at it. It is a very scarey feeling when that happens.
