It happened to my friend's step-mother in a CPO 2000 2.8Q that I sold her along with another C5 that was sold at the dealership. The cause was cold weather making something harden and was fixed by using a new kind of lubricant or something. This is what the tech told me; I'm sure there is a better explanation out there. I'm shocked to know that the C6 is affected. Ouch!

But seriously, glad you guys are ok. Hope for all our sakes that it is not endemic to the car and something easily fixed on yours. good luck and keep us posted.

based on one unsubstantiated account. We don't know any of the details and the car hasn't been evaluated. Until then, or until many more C6 posters have the same symptoms, I'd hold off on stigmatizing the entire series...

Since most new cars (including ours) has fly by wire throttle system, cable jam is out of the equation. I would guess if your sensors were bad (pedal position sensor, throttle body sensor), it should show up in your computer's error bank. If mechanical jam is occuring at the throttle body, the dealer should replace that for safety concerns. Another unlikely scenario is that there is somthing caught in your throttle body. I've known cases where a mice crawled up in the engine bay and get caught on the moving part. Let us know what your dealer finds.

especially if the media decides to pursue it. Audi is only now really recovered from those days. Something like this could revive those negative associations from the 80s....talk about impact on resale value!
