Default ATF fluid for Audi A6

yes, it is blue and sold by the dealer with an audi vw part#.
G055 005 A2. I am assuming that this is blue in color.
I am not sure if the bottle says ZF or anything like that.

I have both bottles in front of me now.
The G055 005 A2 bottle has golden color fluid inside.
The G055 162 A2 bottle has blue color fluid inside.

Check with your Audi dealer and ask them about the G055 162 A2.

Audi A6 C6 with O9L transmission Model year 2005-2007 use ATF p/n G 055 005 A2. Model year 2008 and up will use ATF p/n G 055 162 A2. If you drain transmission fluid G 055 005 A2, you can refill with G 055 162 A2 but not the other way around.

so, do I have to use G055 005 A2 or G055 162 A2 when I drain and refill the transmission in my 2005 audi A6?

You can use either G 055 005 a2 or G 055 162 a2 for your 2005 A6 09L transmission.

Default Regarding ATF fluid for 2005 Audi A6

One of the dealer says the new ATF part # is G060 162 A2 and it is green in color. Man, this is so confusing as the dealer says he is not 100% sure but this is the updated part#.

This forum has chatted about the Blue color ZF Lifeguard Fluid concerning the ZF6HP19A transmission for many threads. I'd suggest you call other Audi service departments and ask them what the Blue Fluid cost for your car or at least talk to the Audi Trained Technician who does the transmissions at your shop.

Yes, i agree to talk to a technician and will try.
However, the replacement fluid is now green in color and not blue
apparently. is this true?

I have not been able to talk to an Audi Transmission tech.
I did find out from ZF folks, that their distributor in CT, name of the
company is Ericsson (not sure of the spelling), tel#1-800-388-4418
and they sell the ZF lifeguard6 (for 6HP19) in 20 Litre (no quarts).
They have gold brown, blue and also green color ATF fluid.
