Evening all,

I have a tdi a6 c6 which will not rev over 2000rpm.

Previously when it revved up to 2000rpm (limited) it would rev rough and smoke around the turbo area. Long story short, the mesh joint on the cat was no good so took the egr cooler off and took the cat off and replaced the cat.

Now it revs fine to 2000rpm but does not go any further, no engine management light on and no codes showed, any ideas?

Not much experience of TDi on this board as most are US based and they did not get a TDi C6 (may get the BiTDi in the C7). Try searching and asking the question on http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/f...orum-2005-2010 Sounds like it is the Turbo on the way out or a split in one of the hoses

I have the 2,7 TDI, When standing still the engine will not rev over 2300, it is a safeguard to stop you over reving in park.
When in drive it will rev up to red line with ease.
